COSVOX Eclipse Series Shocks Munich: Defining a New Era of Pure Listening
From May 15th to 18th, 2025, at the High End Munich 2025, the pinnacle event in the global audio industry, the Chinese Hi-End brand COSVOX made a stunning debut with its flagship modular speaker system. With its revolutionary industrial design and hall-of-fame audio performance, it became a highly anticipated Eastern force at the exhibition.
The perfect fusion of sculpture aesthetics and acoustic technology
The core product of COSVOX on display this time - the Eclipse three-stack system - continues the brand's signature artistic genes. Each channel is composed of a Line line source module and two SUB212 active subwoofers in a dumbbell structure. The cabinet is made of aerospace-grade 6061 aluminum alloy through CNC precision processing. Its streamlined curved surface design comes from thousands of times of lathe model making by the behind-the-scenes team, transforming cold metal into an acoustic sculpture with vitality.
The Line module innovatively features 6 self-developed AMT pneumatic tweeters, forming a vertical line array with a total sound-emitting area of 24 inches. Through actual measurement, even at a high sound pressure level of 115dB, the total harmonic distortion remains below 0.5%, and the high-frequency extension reaches 40kHz, achieving an equal-ratio amplification of sound pressure and nearly zero-compression precise reproduction. The mid-bass unit adopts the patented CarbonEcho technology, with a composite diaphragm formed by two layers of dry carbon fiber sandwiching a high-molecular damping layer, combined with a neodymium hybrid magnetic circuit and a pure copper short-circuit ring, enabling the 6.5-inch unit to exceed the traditional frequency bandwidth limit and optimize the even harmonic ratio, bringing an intoxicating musicality. At the same time, to adapt to different application scenarios, the Line offers both active (built-in amplifier) and passive (external power amplifier) versions, meeting the diverse needs of professional users.
The SUB212 subwoofer module is not only a low-frequency engine (with dual 12-inch push-pull units), but also the "smart brain" of the entire system. It is equipped with a 1000W Hypex Class D amplifier with DSP functionality and an analog electronic crossover. The analog electronic crossover offers three options: 150Hz, 65Hz, and DSP. It can send the sound above 150Hz (or 65Hz) to the Line for playback. The DSP only affects the subwoofer, and in combination with Hypex software, it generates filters to correct the low-frequency response and adjust the delay, ensuring perfect coordination between the sub-bass and the main system.
If you want to set up a home theater surround sound system, COSVOX Audio also has a dedicated center speaker model called Line Center. The SUB 212 can also be used as a subwoofer for the LFE channel.
Munich Live Showcase: COSVOX Acoustics Receives High Acclaim
In the specially designed acoustic space, when the Mahler symphony was played in full force, the 6-unit AMT line array presented an astonishing density of string instruments and silky smooth high frequencies; the 4 SUB212 subwoofers demonstrated authoritative 20Hz ultra-low frequencies with precise volume control like a measuring instrument; the unique "human auditory characteristic curve" crossover technology ensured that the audience remained comfortable even after long listening sessions; the sculptural cabinet suppressed resonance, making the instrument imaging as clear as crystal.
"This completely overturned my perception of Chinese audio equipment!" exclaimed the foreign audience on the spot. "Those exquisite carbon fiber diaphragms, Mundorf silver foil capacitors and pure copper foil inductors even exceed the material standards of top European brands."
In addition, the "Point" speaker, also on display during the same period, shone brightly. With its breakthrough design, it redefined the acoustic boundaries of small speakers. The "Point" speaker features a diamond-shaped polyhedral acoustic cabinet design (12 geometric surfaces) to reduce sound wave interference, and a 20cm thick aviation aluminum front baffle to achieve "zero resonance". Its unique axisymmetric passive radiation system (1 active + 2 passive units) breaks through volume limitations, combining the speed of a sealed box with the bass extension of a ported box. It supports floor-standing, wall-mounted, and even ceiling installation, meeting the requirements of a surround sound system.
This debut in Munich marks an important step for the Chinese high-end audio brand in the international acoustic field. At the exhibition site, many professional visitors gave positive evaluations of COSVOX's acoustic performance, believing that it demonstrated unique tone processing technology and brought new possibilities to the global audio market.
